A Zed siempre le ha gustado cocinar y, de ni\u00f1a, ayudaba a su madre a cocinar y vender productos en la reserva para mantener a su familia. \u00abMi gusto por la cocina viene de mi madre. Los tacos navajos se hacen con una c\u00e1scara de pan frito rellena de alubias y carne picada, y con verduras como guarnici\u00f3n. El concepto del pan frito, que hace que el plato sea \u00fanico, surgi\u00f3 de hacer algo de la nada cuando lo \u00fanico que hab\u00eda eran productos racionados por el gobierno despu\u00e9s de que los ind\u00edgenas fueran expulsados de sus tierras ancestrales y trasladados a remotas reservas a mediados del siglo XIX. El t\u00e9 se elabora con una hierba que crece silvestre y se encuentra habitualmente en las reservas. Zed cont\u00f3 que los camiones y remolques de comida eran un elemento b\u00e1sico en su comunidad porque no ten\u00edan un acceso c\u00f3modo a las tiendas de comestibles, y era una oportunidad para que la gente ganara dinero. \u00abLa falta de recursos y empleo en la reserva fue dif\u00edcil pero alentadora; me ayud\u00f3 a trazar un plan claro de lo que quer\u00eda para m\u00ed, que era estabilidad\u00bb. Su determinaci\u00f3n y concentraci\u00f3n son la base de ZesteaZed. Cuando Zed lleg\u00f3 a Colorado, se matricul\u00f3 en un programa culinario en Emily Griffith y m\u00e1s tarde en WOW (Work Options for Women), que la ayud\u00f3 a encontrar RMMFI. Zed complet\u00f3 Idea Lab y Boot Camp consecutivamente, lo que le ayud\u00f3 a impulsar sus planes de poner en marcha su cami\u00f3n de comida. \u00abRMMFI me expuso y me abri\u00f3 los ojos a muchas m\u00e1s cosas que pod\u00eda hacer y a mayores oportunidades\u00bb.
