FAQs

Anyone with a business idea or an existing small business who faces barriers to traditional support, such as income, identity, or systemic challenges, is eligible to apply. We welcome applications from individuals in Colorado and rural New Mexico.

No business plan is needed! Our programs help you develop or refine your business idea, build a plan, and gain the tools to launch or grow your business.
Wait times vary depending on location and program demand. Once you apply, you will be seated in a program based on your readiness, eligibility, responsiveness to communication, and submission of required documents.
If you’re not accepted into the Business Idea Lab, Business Launch Boot Camp, or Thrive Business Accelerator, it’s not a “no” – it’s a “not right now.” This may mean that the timing isn’t right, or you may need more support outside of our programs. In the meantime, you may be paired with individual mentors, attend office hours, or receive a list of resources from RMMFI staff to help you prepare for future opportunities.
Basic technology skills, like using email, spreadsheets, and Zoom, can be helpful for participating in our programs. If you’re concerned about your technology skills, we encourage you to speak with our intake team for more information. RMMFI has resources available to support learning in this area, and we can help you determine if you’re ready to engage in the program.

Thrive Phase

Thrive Office Hours are held monthly. They provide an informal opportunity for entrepreneurs to receive technical support and advice in various areas of their operations so they can utilize their resources more effectively and advance to the growth stage of their businesses.

Entrepreneurs in the Thrive Phase can request one-on-one mentorship whenever they feel they could benefit from additional support. We match entrepreneurs with mentors based on their specific needs so that they can get tailored guidance from someone who knows how to navigate the problems or opportunities they are facing.

RMMFI connects entrepreneurs to market opportunities that allow them to test and sell their products and services, gain exposure to new customers, and build best practices.
