FAQs

Anyone with a business idea or an existing small business who faces barriers to traditional support, such as income, identity, or systemic challenges, is eligible to apply. We welcome applications from individuals in Colorado and rural New Mexico.

No business plan is needed! Our programs help you develop or refine your business idea, build a plan, and gain the tools to launch or grow your business.
Wait times vary depending on location and program demand. Once you apply, you will be seated in a program based on your readiness, eligibility, responsiveness to communication, and submission of required documents.
If you’re not accepted into the Business Idea Lab, Business Launch Boot Camp, or Thrive Business Accelerator, it’s not a “no” – it’s a “not right now.” This may mean that the timing isn’t right, or you may need more support outside of our programs. In the meantime, you may be paired with individual mentors, attend office hours, or receive a list of resources from RMMFI staff to help you prepare for future opportunities.
Basic technology skills, like using email, spreadsheets, and Zoom, can be helpful for participating in our programs. If you’re concerned about your technology skills, we encourage you to speak with our intake team for more information. RMMFI has resources available to support learning in this area, and we can help you determine if you’re ready to engage in the program.
RMMFI offers virtual, in-person, and hybrid programming. Please speak with our intake team for specific details available near you.
