It’s National Small Business Week, and we’re spotlighting the important part small business plays in making our communities healthy and vibrant. Small businesses create economic strength and resiliency through local feedback loops, and their owners often hold leadership roles that extend their impact beyond the business.

A study from Chicago found that for every $100 spent at a local business, $68 stays in the community. When that $100 is spent at a chain store, only $43 does. Here in the RMMFI network, 76% of boot camp grads report being involved in our community in the past year through donations, volunteering, mentoring, and more.
