There is entrepreneurial potential waiting to be unleashed across Colorado, and today we’re excited to announce that RMMFI is adding two new program sites in Trinidad and Sterling! As part of a Colorado Department of Local Affairs initiative to reinvest parole reform dollars in economic development, these two sites will have a specific focus on serving formerly-incarcerated entrepreneurs in the northeast and southeast regions of the state.
Building on our partnership in the Denver Metro area, we will be running these new sites in collaboration with Second Chance Center (SCC). SCC is a leading re-entry organization with a long history of helping formerly-incarcerated individuals reestablish their lives and become successful members of the community. Together, we will be able to provide a holistic and supportive pathway to business development that meets entrepreneurs where they are.
We know that local communities understand their strengths and opportunities best, so our first step with this expansion is building relationships with community organizations and leaders in Trinidad, Sterling, and the surrounding areas. By starting with listening and learning, we will be able to better leverage existing community assets, find areas for collaboration, and build new partnerships that ensure we can offer a robust “Whole Entrepreneur” support system.
Programming at our new sites will kick off this fall with Business Idea Lab. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to prove the impact that comes when we invest in the potential of individuals and communities.
