One of our priorities for this year is solidifying RMMFI’s external voice, visibility, and leadership. This includes demonstrating RMMFI’s role in the broader small business ecosystem and activating entrepreneurs as leaders and builders. As part of this priority, we were excited to kick off our 2024 advocacy initiative last week by hosting a Legislative Preview and Policy 101 workshop in partnership with Good Business Colorado.
Over 50 entrepreneurs and several Colorado state legislators attended this event, which provided an opportunity for small business owners to better understand the policymaking process and how they can make their voices heard. Entrepreneurs also got to discuss this year’s legislative priorities with Representative Judy Amabile, Senator Cleave Simpson, Senator Julie Gonzales, and Representative Naquetta Ricks.
There was incredible energy and ideas in the room, and we’re excited to build on that momentum with our next advocacy opportunity: an Entrepreneur and Employer Day of Action at the Colorado State Capitol. This event, in partnership with Good Business Colorado, Small Business Majority, B Local, and Center for Community Wealth Building, will be an opportunity for our community to speak up for a more equitable, sustainable, and prosperous Colorado.
