On March 26, RMMFI was invited to attend an event with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Colorado political leaders as part of the White House Initiative Latino Economic Summit. Interim CEO Jessica Sveen and five RMMFI entrepreneurs participated in the event to highlight Latinx small business owners and their contributions to our community.
It was a powerful and inspiring event, as captured in the reflections of the entrepreneurs who attended:
“This experience was amazing and empowering — seeing people that looked like me and talked liked me in a room talking about accomplishments, actions, and goals. I am proud, blessed, and so full of emotion!”
“I was so impressed by the gorgeous Latinx community that was at the event. The work our community is doing to lift us up! I am so proud of the other Entrepreneurs I shared this experience with.”
“It was extremely an honor to have spent a Saturday morning in the company of incredible people. What a way to show that we are ‘poniendo nuestro granito de arena’ to help strengthen and grow our community.”
We applaud LaRae Martinez (52Eightyent Marketing), Michelle Garcia (Heirloom Catering), Ginger Antuna (San Luis Trading Co), Ría Ramirez (Good Food Good Living), and Francisco Miera (Junk Giants) for their representation and for continuing to champion their communities — as business owners and leaders.
