As part of RMMFI’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA), we recently introduced a new DEIA-focused training for all our volunteers. Many volunteers have expressed an interest in continuing to learn and grow in this area, and this training provides an opportunity to deepen their understanding of DEIA concepts, personal bias, and microaggressions — both in general and in relation to their involvement at RMMFI.
All new and existing volunteers will now be required to complete this training as part of their RMMFI experience. Our goal is that volunteers walk away with new knowledge and tools for working with entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and with different lived experiences than their own, which in turn helps us create a more inclusive and welcoming community for all our stakeholders.
If you want to learn more or sign up for a future DEIA training, contact Emma Feitelson, RMMFI’s Volunteer Manager, at emma@rmmfi.org. We’ll be tracking the outcomes of this and other efforts to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within our volunteer community, and we’ll share more updates in the future as we continue our work to support all our community members equitably.
